So, We Bought A Car.

I say it casually, because really I'm kind of freaking out. Remember what I've always driven before? Kia. Oh, my love for Kia is always going to have a special place in my heart (may her new owners find her breaking down charming and exciting like I did). But, we bought a real car, a car that I love.

I've never bought a new (used, but new to me) car. D. and I have been throwing the idea around, seeing how we only have the one right now. Turns out that isn't the most convenient of situations when the husband works 40 minutes away... Yikes. That makes for an impatient wife and Lady when he gets home. But, it's either stay at home or take him to the train in the wee hours of the morning, only to have him return two hours later than if he was to drive in the evening. Yuck.

So, my good husband, knowing how attached, emotional, over-bearing, 'i-want-it-right-now (etc. etc. i could go on...) I get, asked if I wanted to car shop on Monday since he had the day off. But, he heavily warned me for days in advance: this was only shopping, maybe test driving, but we would not be purchasing anytime soon. Just weighing our options.

Hmmm... That was until I fell in love with an SUV that was a compromise for both of us. He's always wanted a BMW. And somehow, a mystery - especially to me - I fell in love with the BMW SUV. I kid you not, when the day started I was determined that when I would drive home in a new car it would only be with a four-door Jeep Wrangler (not really a family friendly car, but my dream nonetheless).

Super long story, made short (ish). We bought it. D. was ecstatic. I was ecstatic. Lady knows no different. But, I bet if she did she would be ecstatic too.

Thanks for humoring me and this (minor) milestone. Humor me a little longer. I've always been determined to own black vehicles. I love them. But the white suits my new transport, no?

Now Lady A. and I can drive to Target whenever we want. Oh, sweet freedom.

  1. Love it! So jealous, too. I've been wanting a SUV forever it seems like now. Now maybe I need to talk my husband into it now. I'm over the 1 car situation, also.
