Today I am inspired by this talk by Jeffery R. Holland

Read it. Listen to it. Watch it. Especially mothers. I've listened to it twice today. And bawled both times.

Lately I feel as though I'm in a constant and repetitive funk. I find myself selfishly saying, "What about me?" or "Me too! Think about me too!" or "Am I even important?" over and over and over again. I feel a need to explain myself when I am tired at the end of the day, "I know I just stay home and it isn't a real job... but..." I feel that I am not contributing to our household because I don't bring home a check.

This message felt as though it was being spoken directly to me (although I was not even eight years old when it was originally given). Not only are my feelings of frustration, fatigue, and discouragement real - but they are worth it. My role is important.

"In speaking of mothers generally, I especially wish to praise and encourage young mothers. The work of a mother is hard, too often unheralded work...Mothers, we acknowledge and esteem your faith in every footstep. Please know that it is worth it then, now, and forever. "
